• How do I sign up for HistoryExtra newsletters?

  Sign up here to receive free newsletters tailored to your interests.

• How can I unsubscribe from newsletters?

  You can manage your newsletter preferences in ‘My Account’ once you are logged in using the 'Sign in' link at the top of the page. Alternatively you can click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any HistoryExtra email.

• How can I re-use your content?

  Content reuse requires permission due to licensing agreements. Please email Richard.Bentley@immediate.co.uk with details of your request.

• Can I contact the author of an article?

  We cannot share personal contact details, but authors may be reached via their professional websites or social media. For editorial enquiries, email HistoryExtraWeb@immediate.co.uk.

• Can I pitch an article to HistoryExtra?

  Yes. Send your pitch (3–4 sentences about your idea, plus credentials) to HistoryExtraWeb@immediate.co.uk. We aim to respond within three weeks.

  Our subscription service provides exclusive, curated content from expert historians. This includes new features such as our lecture series, additional podcasts, and topical specials – all designed to help you explore the past in depth.

• How can I access digital content from HistoryExtra?

  Visit historyextra.com/subscribe and follow the on-screen steps to subscribe and access digital content.

• How do I subscribe to HistoryExtra?

  1. Visit historyextra.com/subscribe
  2. Choose your subscription
  3. Create an account with your email address and password
  4. Enter your payment details
  5. Start enjoying unlimited access

• Do you offer a free trial?

  We sometimes offer free trials to new customers. Please note that free trials are for new customers only.

• Can I purchase a gift subscription?

  Yes, simply tick the box 'This is a gift' when purchasing the subscription

• What does the app subscription include?

  With the HistoryExtra app, you can:

  • Browse ad-free, mobile-friendly content
  • Save favourites to create your own reading list
  • Search the podcast archive and listen ad-free
  • Watch video lectures and masterclasses

• How do I download the app?

  Download the HistoryExtra app from the App Store or Google Play.

• How do I sign in to the app?

  Sign in with the same email and password you use for HistoryExtra. If you experience difficulties, please contact our customer services team via our Contact Us page.

• Can I subscribe within the app?

  Yes. Non-subscribers will be prompted to subscribe when opening the app. This includes a free trial for new customers.

Managing My HistoryExtra Account

• How do I register?

  Click ‘Register’ at the top of the page. Enter your email address and choose a password.

• How do I update my personal details?

  Log in and go to the ‘My Account’ area to update personal details, password, or newsletter preferences.

• I’ve forgotten my login details

  Click ‘Forgot your password?’ on the login page to reset your password via email. If you’re still experiencing difficulties, please contact our customer services team via our Contact Us page.

• How do I manage my newsletter preferences?

  Log in and go to ‘My Account’ to manage your newsletter subscriptions. You can also unsubscribe directly from the bottom of any HistoryExtra email.

• How will you use my data?

  We’ll keep your data safe and only use it as permitted. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
